WEST MITCHELL STREET CHRISTIAN
METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH

140 Years of Worship & Ministry

Welcome

I give God all praise, glory, and honor for all God has done in and through the life and legacy of this church. I cannot begin to tell you how delighted I am to be pastoring this faith community at this time in history. God is moving in the life and work of God’s church! The history of this church speaks for itself: the life-changing and communally transformative ministries, outreach programs, and evangelistic efforts made by West Mitchell Street throughout her one hundred and thirty-two years have helped bring and breathe life into the Vine City, West End, and downtown Atlanta communities. We are more than just a parking lot on the corner! We have been and are continuously being called to be God’s people in these communities, to be a God-presence to the least, the last, and the lost. We must continue to find ways to live into our rich legacy of bringing hope to the hopeless, help to the helpless, joy to those in mourning, and peace into a distressed, distraught, and distrustful world.

I want to invite YOU to join us for worship at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays, Bible Study at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, and become an integral part of what God is doing in and through the ministries of West Mitchell Street CME Church! We have a renewed commitment to helping create God’s beloved community, through radically inclusive spiritual formation, community building, and social activism. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the word into God’s beloved community. Through our core values of love, faith, justice, integrity, compassion, and commitment, the West Mitchell Street CME Church strives to live out its God-ordained meaning and purpose in the world.
